A line of students waited outside the Delta Delta Delta sorority house Tuesday, November 8th for the sorority’s annual philanthropy event, Delta Desserts. The theme of this year’s event was based off the board game Candyland and the desserts were out of this world. As the crowd of people walked in, the first thing they could see were colorful decorations and criss-crossing streamers that lead the way to the never-ending tables of brownies, cotton candy, ice cream, cookies, and cake.

All of the proceeds from this awesome event goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Delta Delta Delta is St. Jude’s biggest contributor and partner. Last year the sorority raised 8,000 dollars from this event alone and the turnout was over 800 people.

The desserts were seriously amazing and I pretty much inhaled half of the cookies. Each dessert station had its own theme based off of the Candyland board game, including the Lollipop Woods, Candy Castle, Gumdrop Mountain, and Molasses Swamp.

The cotton candy machine was a huge hit and the Red Wagon ice cream station was all kinds of delicious. Every station was put together, decorated, and run by the girls of the sorority.

If you dream in cakes and chocolate, this event was pretty much a personal wonderland. Just when you thought that you had eaten enough, that double chocolate cake started calling your name.

The members of the sorority had shirts with the slogan of the event "Sugar Crush Cancer". Every Delta Delta Delta sorority contributes money to children Cancer charities.

For only eight dollars at the door, you could eat as much of this sugary goodness as you wanted. Remember, calories don't count when you are helping out an awesome cause.

The event was a huge hit and people were pretty much flooding the house. Not only did the event feed a bunch of very hungry college students but it also raised money that goes towards helping children fight cancer. Delta Desserts wouldn't have been possible without the awesome girls of the Delta Delta Delta sorority who watched us stuff our faces shamelessly and didn't judge.
